JOANNE JANICKI
These are some highlights from my masters studies.
SHOWCASE
This class ended with a production of a work of art series. For my example, I have chosen a video I created for my training using the skills developed in this class.
The video I chose to share shows how a school culture is changed through teaching the MOVE curriculum.
The sample I chose here is the culmination of work that occurred during the semester that help form my educational philosophy after studying the research in the field.
This class was very meaningful because it emphasized lifelong learning. It taught me to consider a learner’s heart, mind and body when teaching. For the final of this class, I designed a program to promote parent involvement that I still use parts of today to teach MOVE curriculum.
The readings in this class were fabulous. There were a several books to read that were thought provoking and the reading did not feel like a chore. One of my favorite books was Better by Atul Gawande.
The author asks,“What does it take to be good at something in which failure is so easy, so effortless?" His writings show us it takes diligence, doing right, and ingenuity. My sample chosen here is a summary of the readings as it applies to learning and performing.
