The classes I took in this concentration helped me better understand motivational and behavioral difficulties in students.  I also found the psychology of learning useful when I do adult training.  In exploring this page, feel free to check out samples of my coursework by clicking on the pictures.  Read more about my instructors by following their links.

CEP Courses

Instructor: Becca Cutler

This class went in depth describing team teaching and collaboration.  During this class, I had the opportunity to work with different teachers in my building and they helped me to understand behaviors in a manageable way.The example I have chosen is the interview I did with a teacher regarding a student we shared.

Instructor: Dr. Danah Henriksen

This was a great course through which I discovered that people do not have in depth understanding of concepts although they may talk intelligently about them or score well on a test.  The greatest take home point from this class was to ask questions to understand more how our students/ learners understand.  My example is an podcast interview about wind.  This also introduced me to Audacity to use for audio editing.

Instructor: Dr. Evelyn Oka

This was a great class that help me in task analysis of student learning problems and introduced a lot of strategies that work.  I had the opportunity to work in a group and we used skype and goodledocs to collaborate.  The experience of focusing on one  student as a subject led me to the realization that if you focus on a student and work hard enough to solve problems great gains are made.  The sample that I chose to share is a powerpoint presentation of my semester long project.

Instructor: Dr. E. Wong

By far, this was one of my favorite courses.  It forced me to work on the computer and allowed for creativity and fun. We studied photography, fashion, music, film and literature. I had a blast and learned how to make short videos and then to edit it to make the experience more compelling.  I was always asking myself "Is this what I am trying to get across?"  This class taught me to be very critical of presentation so that the ordinary becomes extraordinary.  The sample I chose is a reflection of the photography unit and some of my pictures.
